The Faoladh were a form of Werewolf from Irish culture that were seen as guardians and protectors.

Description

Faoladh were depicted as wolves with sharp teeth, claws and a big bushy tail. They were also able to shape-shift from a human during a full moon. Unlike the werewolves we think of, these ones were not malicious, and would often help people, they would be appointed by kings as knights.
