| The wiki about cryptids, that anyone can edit.
Cryptids are monsters... except that cryptids could actually exist! When talking about Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster you're talking about something that could live right on this Earth right now! On Cryptid Wiki, we document all of the possible information you can get about cryptids and determine if they're real or not. You can contribute to this wiki. Do you want to make a new article? Just type in the name of the article in the box below and click "Create new article." Make sure to follow our rules while editing pages. We do not accept creepypasta monsters, such as slenderman, herobrine, the rake, or any others as they are, well, creepypasta. Same goes with SCPs, such as SCP-173, SCP-096, and SCP-049. If you create a page like this, you will be issued a warning and the page will be deleted. Other fictional characters are also not allowed, such as Cthulhu and Siren Head. |

The Yamapikarya(ヤマピカリャー) or Yamapikara is a large cat-like cryptid reported from Iriomote Island, Okinawa, Japan. This name means "a creature that emits light from its eyes in the mountains”. This name is also another name for the Iriomote cat, which inhabits the region. In appearance, it is a large cat-like creature, similar to a leopard. It is described as having tiger-like colored fur and black spots. There is a wild cat called the Iriomote cat on Iriomote Island, but the Yamapikarya is more than twice as big as the Iriomote cat and is estimated to be 1 meter to 1.8 meters long.
