The Dard (meaning "forked tongue"), also known as the Cat-Headed snake, is a creature in French folklore, especially in the department of Vienne. It is somewhat similar to the Tatzelwurm.

Description
The Dard had a lizard-like body with a short tail like a viper. It had a cat-like head and a mane extending down its back. The dard was not venomous but bites ferociously and hisses loudly. It was said to suck the udders of cow and drink the milk.
Explanation
The Dard may be popular folklore regarding the slow worm (Anguis fragilis fragilis), a legless lizard native to Europe, or the European glass lizard (Ophisaurus apodus).
