The Nitagon(ニタゴン) is a cryptid reported from Nita Town, Shimane Prefecture, Japan, and has now already been positively identified.
On the morning of June 23, 1996, a neighbor walking in a residential complex in the area of Mizawa, Nita Town, spotted an animal that was moving in an awkward but rabbit-like way, leaping, which he captured and reported to the nearby police station.
The creature is 40 cm long, has no body hair and its skin is brown, its face resembles that of a deer or dog, its mouth has fangs, and its ears are large and erect. Its limbs were long and slender, and its tail was similarly elongated. This organism was named Nitagon.
It was taken to the Agriculture and Forestry Management Center, but no one, not even the veterinarians, knew what it was. While under control, it turned out to be a nocturnal omnivore, as it drank milk and ate fish paste and pork in a dark box.
The creature was taken to the Shimane Nature Museum of Mt. Sanbe, where it was examined and found to be a three-month-old fox with a skin disease.
